Welcome to Breathe First Yoga, a website built around the insights, musings, and offerings of certified yoga teacher, Dorothy Corrigan (That's me!).  Let's start out simply!  Here's why I love yoga....

Anyone can do it!  From children to Seniors and couch potatoes to triathletes, everyone gets something good out of yoga.  The beauty of yoga is that it is built around the individual.  You don't have to be a human pretzel or have the ability to balance on one foot for twenty minutes.  All you need to do is come to class, breathe, and practice at your own comfort level.  Soon enough, you'll find that you're feeling better, you're moving better, you're breathing better, and most of all, you're living better.  

There are many different styles of Yoga!  Hatha Yoga (the yoga of postures and breath work) can be fast or slow, strenuous or relaxing, flowing or static, spiritual or not,  depending on the style you choose and the teacher who teaches you.  So if you try a class and it just doesn't seem to fit your needs, please don't give up on yoga altogether, just try a different style!  Once you find your fit and attend a few classes, you'll find that your body and mind will crave a regular yoga practice!  

Yoga can improve your health dramatically!  When people go to yoga classes, they expect that yoga will help them gain flexibility, reduce their stress levels, and improve their posture.  But here are some other benefits you may not expect.  Yoga can...
